Day 2

Where's Lex?  Still in his hole.

Besides a short dinner break, he's been working on this since 4 p.m.  It's 1 a.m. right now!  He said God is teaching him perseverance.  He was so close to being done.  He fixed the leak 100%.  BUT the shower head turned on automatically every time we turned the water on.  We couldn't just turn the facet on.  So he undid all the work he'd done and started over.

As I'm taking this picture Lex says, "Babe! Don't take pictures of my ghetto rigged stuff!  I've got people convinced I'm actually good at this!"
So what do I do-post it on the web!

Our house might just be falling apart.  Well kinda.  Last week we had a major storm in Lubbock & the power went out for several hours.  It blew our air conditioning thingy. Lex attempted to fix it.  We ended up having to call a repair guy.  $550 later we have a cooled house again.

This week a shower pipe is leaking.  Awesome.  Lex is in the process of fixing that.  I think he can fix it on his own.  It's a little scary though.  I'm just glad we aren't going to have to call maintenance this round.  Unless the house explodes...which it very well could cause Lex is using a blow torch thingy that makes me really nervous.

Cookie dough

Our shower was August 2nd.  It was so fun!  Some of my favorite memories are when April Medina tried to induce labor by surprising me and coming all the way from Dallas to be there, Manon's very special devotional,  and a letter to Annerson from Alexis Landry on the back of the canvas she painted for the nursery. Possibly the all time winner of most amazing shower moment ever was the catering.  The adorable Mr. Robert Fletcher graced us all with his much desired Sheridan's catering cart & even brought me my own special container of cookie dough!  It was AMAZING!
All to say...I felt the excitement of my friends and family & felt God's presence.  So many people showered me, Lex & Annerson with love and gifts. What more could I have asked for? Thank you hostesses-Amber Hickman, Manon Langford, Jessica Gray, Laura Moon, Melissa Williams, Beth Dallas, Robin West, Martha Haley, Diane Davis & Pam Brown-you did an amazing job!  I hope Annerson will know how special this day was for me when she gets older.

You know what this means...

We had a doctor's appointment today.  I am 60-70% effaced and dilated to 1. The coolest thing is that Dr. Owen could feel her head.  I just thought that was amazing.

My contractions are getting stronger and more frequent.  The car is packed & ready & tomorrow marks the 2 week countdown.  I have a feeling it won't be 2 more weeks....maybe she'll come on Sunday & we can share a birthday forever.

When everything we say and take just leads to war and hate
We only pass the blame, sedate the pain and move along but something feels so wrong
So deep inside so hard to hide
So desperately we try and try and come to find
that we are not what we've been looking for
I can't believe I'm hearing people say that all is well
I think it's time we all admit we have no good within ourselves
Cause we are not ok, we're not alright
We need to pray for help
Forgive us for our pride

Josh Wilson's song "Something's Gotta Change"

I am not ok. I am not what I'm searching for. I have no good apart from You. I try so hard to ignore this truth on a day to day basis, but You make it impossible to ignore.  Open my eyes to this truth Lord.  Thank you that I am not, but you are THE I AM!

African Missionaries

Do any of you know Graham Brown? He's Lex's BFF and a crazy awesome guy. Well, Graham's parents are leaving for Namibia in a matter of weeks. Dr. Brown is a pediatrician. They are going through the organization Africa Inland Missions to grow the Lord's kingdom through medicine. The Browns love the Lord and desire to serve Him at all costs. They just sold their house, donated their pediatric practice to Texas Tech, are leaving their family, children & grandchildren....all to share Christ's love with the lost and hurting. Go check out their story. It's incredible.

Check out this news story that aired a few weeks ago

Posting hasn't appealed to me lately.  Blogging just wasn't something I enjoyed doing anymore...but I'm over it now.  I'm back. The boycott has ended.  I updated my pics, updated my background and have lots to share!
